The following goals for ACADSA over the next three years are the organizations response to the important issues identified in the SWOT Analysis that was completed as part of the strategic planning process. These goals provide a road map for fulfilling the strategic direction.
1. Service Delivery – ACADSA is committed to provide and clearly communicate services and activities for students outside of and in support of their academics.
- Ongoing student updates, communication, involvement and Executive Council availability
- Creating and presenting events of interest to students through various partnerships and on our own
- Council and student professional development opportunities
2. Organizational Effectiveness – ACADSA is committed to managing the organization in the most efficient manner by supporting a large number of students within budget.
- Clear organizational structure with accompanying obligations, duties and roles
- Professional Development Policy (ongoing evaluation)
- Annual review of services
- Ongoing review of Bylaws and Policies and Procedures
3. Advocacy – ACADSA is committed to educating the public and advocating for the long term best interests of the students at ACAD.
- Define and update advocacy and lobbying goals on an ongoing basis
- Participation in and promotion of Community events
- Ongoing collaboration with other post secondary groups
- Community involvement – giving back
- Input into Academic Council with respect to curriculum development
- Networking with other art institute’s and artistic communities
- Continuing good working relationship with ACAD (administration, faculty and staff)
4. Resource Development – - ACADSA is committed to being a well respected fun part of ACAD that attracts increased numbers of volunteers and alternative funding sources to support operations.
- Develop external funding opportunities and community partnerships for student professional development
- Volunteer recruitment and recognition
- Establish ongoing team building and fun activities for the Executive and Student Legislative Councils
