Re:Blend – Digital Publication – Submission Call – February 27th

Hello ACAD!

It is the second call for Re:Blend, and we are now accepting
submissions for the second issue! We had a call last semester,
but we did not receive enough submissions for the new issue.
If you have not seen our first issue, it is located on our website:

This year we are working with Nancy Tousley, and we are accepting
content in a variety of forms.The submission requirements are
in the ReBlend Call for Submission, and all submissions are due by February 27th.

visit the ACADSA office.

Calgary Art Walk

From Julie Chandler, Art Walk:

Artists,

It’s that time of year again when we send out our invitation to participate to
our Calgary Art Walks!  This year, we will be hosting 4 Art Walks on the first
Thursdays of June, July, August and September (part of First Thursdays).
That’s June 7, July 5, August 2 and September 6.  Once again, they will be held
on the pedestrian street Stephen Avenue.  It’s $100 to participate — unless you
sign up for all 4 Art Walks, then it’s $75 per Art Walk.

Last year, we had a remote debit / credit card machine to service the artists
with, so that they could accept more than “cash only”.  It worked out really
well, added sales to artists and it was a simple process to keep track of each
artist’s sales and then send them an email money transfer afterwards.

The July Art Walk was our busiest.  We were spilling into 2 blocks for the first
time and it was great to interact (and sell to) the many tourists who were in
town.

The Lossless Gallery: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

The Lossless Gallery is opening a call for submission for next months group show exhibition opening March 6th.

When submitting, please include the following:

Open Call for Art: Jelly Modern Doughnuts

Jelly Modern Doughnuts is looking for local artists that would be interested in showing art in our Community Room. We choose a different artist to support each month and are looking to fill the months of March through December. The Horse Show! Call for Submissions – Feb. 27th

Hello Horsies!

The Horse Show is now in its 5th year and it will be on March 2nd from 6-8! It
is a one night event that will showcase work from the ACAD community in the
mediums of video, audio, installation, and performance art. The show will have
judges and prizes at the end. The show will also be hosted by a student run
improvisational group from the University of Calgary. It will be a wild rodeo!

Right now we are looking for submissions from everyone, and in the mediums of
video, audio, installation, and performance art. This call is open to faculty,
administration, alumni, and students.

To submit, please send a email to horseyshow@gmail.com with:
- name
- 1 image (either photo or drawn)
- title of piece
- duration of piece
- medium
- program
- contact info
- maximun 200 word description of the piece

Deadline is February 27th at 4pm, and the chosen pieces will have to be dropped
off on February 28 or 29th.
